On valentine's day, I was drawn to her memorial bench

At Crestlawn Memorial Gardens where her ashes rest!

A few days back, a blizzard had blown by

Covering the land of the departed with snow and ice!

The last hundred feet was yet unplowed,

I could not turn back, without leaving the flowers for my love!

I plunged into the knee-deep white snow,

Following the foot-prints of another determined soul!

I reach the garden of St Mark and stopped,

There was the bench, spotless and shining dark!

As I drove back home, I silently cried

Knowing she must have melted the snow and waited for me to come by!

You and I, when we married each other,

In sickness and health, we vowed to be together!

You and I, when we dreamed and planned our future,

We always thought we would be in it together!

Then came that day, for which waited so long together

Little did I know that it was our last day in this life together!

I watched when you hugged our child and cried so hard, my dear

Little did I know that it was the last moment for all of us together!

And now you are gone and left me behind to wonder,

When will it be my time and we can once again be together!

I must live on and continue this journey of life my dear,

For I have to fulfill what we started together!

Someday when I am done and the almighty is ready for me, my dear

I will join you and we will be forever together!

I bought some flowers today

To keep in front of your photograph

Roses and zenias and lillies

I know you would have given me your glorious smile

And thanked me with stars in your eyes

It's been two years since you left us

So unexpectedly and suddenly

You disappeared behind the white clouds

To become god's angel eternally

Do you know that I miss you so very much

Do you still laugh the way you used to do

You just walked into the sunset

Your memories still burn in the setting sun

Your memories still burn deep inside my heart..

The pain which I thought would go away

But it lingers and lingers persistantly

Your anger made the roses red

Your smile made the stars shine

Your love made the breeze soft and fragrant

The pain I thought would go away

But it lingers and lingers persistantly

There are a million things to remind me of you

A smile. a perfume, a word

The sand, the beach, the waves, the sunshine

I thought the pain would go away

But it lingers and lingers persistantly

I know you are happy, wherever you are

And I know that you want me to be happy

I just go on pretending to be happy

Pretending to be strong

I know that you want me to be happy

So, I pretend to be happy

but my dear,

The pain lingers spreading to every cell of my being
